HOW TO GET TO MONTEVIDEO FROM CARRASCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
By taxi or Uber
The journey to downtown Montevideo takes approximately 40 minutes. Official airport taxis charge around 55 USD and accept credit cards (http://www.taxisaeropuerto.com/en/). Uber: Usually convenient and a affordable option. Pickups are located at the departure level on the upper floor (cost depending on demand). Important note: Please be aware that the availability of services like Uber or public taxis from the airport may vary depending on the time of your arrival.
By bus
We suggest taking the bus line DM1 to Punta Carretas. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Check bus schedules and plan your route here. You can buy a ticket for the driver. On weekends, buses run every ~1 hour from 8 AM until 9 PM. The ticket costs UYU 104, less than 3 USD (payable in Uruguayan pesos). The airport provides currency exchange services and ATMs.
In general, the Moovit app is useful for public transportation.
